I didn’t know I would be putting up this post on the same day Trump supporters stormed the Capitol. With this event, as with so many this last year, Pope Francis’ call to friendship at every level of society is more pertinent now than ever.
Fratelli Tutti, his latest encyclical, addresses the divisions in society. These divisions create gridlock in our world and hinder us from coming together to solve the most pressing problems in it – not just on the individual level, but on the national and global level as well.
Pope Francis explains what we can do to heal these divisions and rediscover our connection with one another. He looks at the Christian parable of the Good Samaritan to draw eternal truths out of the Bible but also addresses modern issues like immigration and human trafficking.
The “Wisdom of Pope Francis” series began as a podcast. I’m up to ten episodes as of the publishing of this post. But I have begun converting these episodes into YouTube videos as well. If you want to keep up with them in that form, just subscribe to my channel. (The podcast will continue as well if you’d rather subscribe to that)
Below is the first episode. I hope it encourages you.
